Hand embroidery and delicate fabrics need looking after. A few rules will keep a piece wearable for years.
- Dry clean only for anything with zari, zardozi, sequins or mirror work.
- Store folded in a cotton or muslin bag, not plastic — embroidery needs to breathe. Hanging heavy pieces distorts the shoulders.
- Keep away from direct sunlight; silks and natural dyes fade.
- Perfume and deodorant first, then dress. Alcohol marks silk permanently.
- A snagged thread is not a broken garment — never pull it. Push it through to the reverse with a needle, or bring the piece to us.
